ABSTRACT

Background

Asian people have  rare incidence of massive pulmonary embolism compared with Caucasians and African Americans. However, recent retrospective studies suggest that the incidence of pulmonary embolism in Asian surgical patients is not as low as previously though. Now, the incidence of  massive pulmonary embolism in surgical patient still inconsistent. Nowadays we use The Caprini score risk assessment for prevent pulmonary embolism we want to find relation of the Caprini score and massive pulmonary embolism ?

Objective: To investigate incidence of massive pulmonary embolism and outcome in Asian surgical patient. Evaluate risk factor and protective factor  in massive pulmonary embolism

Compare standard prevention of Capirini score guideline with our practical in Srinakarin hospital

Methods: Study in surgical patient in Srinakarin hospital, data was recorded as retrospective study 5 years

We search about Age,Sex, Diagnosis,Co-morbidity, Drug or Procedure that use to protect massive pulmonary embolism ( such as penumatic compression, enoxaparin )

Results: ......................................................................................................

Conclusions: Incidence of massive pulmonary embolism in asian surgical patient is not low

and Recomendation at People who CCA, Older age > 60 years, Female and the Caprini risk assessment > ...... Related to massive pulmonary embolism

Key words: retrospective study, massive pulmonary embolism, Asian surgical patient
